Prepare Your Synthetic Grass for Spring

Scott Marks

The snow is finally melting and temperatures are rising, which means your synthetic grass in North Carolina is ready to bask in the sun again. Heavy snowfall can keep lawns buried during the winter. Luckily, when the snow finally clears you’ll see a beautiful, green lawn while neighbors will uncover dead grass that needs hours of maintenance. As an artificial grass owner, you can follow these steps to quickly and easily bring your artificial lawn back to life.

Drainage

It can be tempting to shovel snow off of your synthetic lawn, however, our products are designed to withstand the cold and the weight of heavy snow. Shoveling your lawn can severely damage the individual fibers that make up your artificial grass. The best thing you can do for your artificial grass is just let the snow drain on its own. Our installation process naturally includes a drainage system that allows for 30 inches of water to drain every hour. Warmer temperatures will allow the snow to melt away, preparing your lawn for spring without any effort on your part.

Clear Away Debris

During winter storms, debris and dirt can fly around and become trapped underneath the snow. After the snow melts, you’ll want to clear away any excess debris left over because it could potentially clog drains. You can clear away leaves or branches with a plastic rake. For smaller debris or dirt use a stiff brush to clear your lawn. Remember never to use metal on your artificial grass to help preserve the integrity of the grass fibers. Use your hose to quickly clear any remaining dirt that might have been left behind, as well.

Bring Your Lawn Back to Life
It’s time for landscaping at your Charlotte home! Once the snow is cleared away and any dirt or debris have been removed, you can add the finish touches your front and backyard. Using a stiff plastic brush, fluff your lawn against the grain to make it look full. To really wow your neighbors, or create a backyard oasis, consider adding accents to your yard such as:

  • Stone walkways
  • Flower or vegetable gardens
  • Outdoor seating
  • Trees or shrubs
  • Edging

Adding accents to your yard can make it feel a little more personal, and gives you and your family somewhere to spend quality time this spring.

Now is the perfect time to start planning your spring time activities. Whether you’re throwing a backyard barbeque for friends or family or spending your days playing games on your lawn, you can trust that your synthetic grass can withstand whatever you have planned. Artificial Grass Reviews in North Carolina

The Marks Family are true professionals. Answer calls/texts immediately. They treated my home like it was there own. They also hold their employees to the same standard. Clean and efficient, when they left it was like (other than the job) they were never there.

We can’t say enough about the great service and products from Southeast Turf! From the first meeting to the installation, they were great to deal with. Not to mention how awesome my yard looks. I think several of my neighbors are going to have it done as well because they too were impressed! Thank you!!

I had a small fenced in area off our patio that our dogs used. Southeast Turf installed artificial grass and it looks great. The team showed up on time and did a great job. They are booked out for a few months because they are in high demand. We love our new dog area. No more dirty dog feet, no more digging and no more smell!!

Turf installation at our beach home. Two large dogs with a small side yard creates challenges for potty time and maintaining your yard. They were able to solve this concern with turf installation that provides a safe area for our furbabies and a beautiful physical appearance as well. The installation was professionally handled and we are loving our new area!
